Japanese Manicure
No polish, no gel, no colour — just your own nails, buffed to a soft pink glow that looks like you were born with better ones.
01 · WHAT IT IS
What it is.
A Japanese manicure is a buffing ritual in the P-Shine tradition. After full dry preparation, a paste made with natural ingredients — beeswax, rice bran and fine minerals — is worked into the nail plate, then sealed with a silky powder and buffed with a soft chamois until the surface shines on its own.
The shine is the nail itself, not a coating. Nails come out smooth, subtly pink and quietly glossy — the kind of finish people notice without being able to name. There is nothing to chip, because there is nothing on top.
Clients book it as a ritual in its own right, and as the civilised way to spend a break from gel. The pedicure version follows the same method for feet, with full preparation included.

03 · YOUR VISIT
Your visit, step by step.
Consultation.
We look at your nails and talk about what they've been through — gel, extensions, nothing at all — and agree shape and length.
Preparation.
Full dry cuticle work and shaping first, exactly as thorough as any of our manicures. The ritual deserves a clean canvas.
The ritual.
Paste worked into each nail in slow passes, then the sealing powder, then the chamois buff — layer by layer until the shine holds on its own.
Aftercare.
Nothing to avoid and nothing to maintain. Cuticle oil daily keeps the glow going; rebook every three to four weeks if you'd like to keep it.

Both include full preparation and cuticle work. Removal of an existing coating is listed separately on the full price list.
05 · GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
Two to three weeks. It fades gradually rather than chipping — one day you simply notice it's more satin than gloss, and that's the sign to rebook.
It's the break most clients choose. Nails coming off a long run of gel tend to look dull and feel rough; the buffing ritual leaves them smooth and glossy while they grow, so taking a break doesn't mean looking unpolished.
You can, but it rather misses the point — the finish is the treatment. If you know you'll want colour, choose one of our polish or gel manicures instead and keep the Japanese ritual for your natural-nail weeks.
An ordinary buff scratches the surface smooth. The P-Shine method feeds paste and powder into the nail plate and seals them in with the chamois — the shine is deeper, lasts weeks rather than days, and the nail looks nourished rather than thinned.
Completely — the finish is natural shine, not lacquer. That said, many men prefer the matte finish of our dedicated men's manicure; we're happy to advise either way.
